| 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler Steam Locomotives |

Jersey Central camelbacks came in a variety of wheel arrangements. This is a 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler, one of the most powerful camelbacks ever built. It was used in passenger service into the fifties. The model above is in the RailKing line by MTH and is the most recent of the very few O gauge camelbacks ever made. The prototype 631 was transferred from the Reading to the Jersey Central in the 1930's. Another shot of the model is shown below, with several of the prototypes below that.



Not all ten-wheelers were camelbacks; shown below is the MTH model of the Pennsylvania G-5s, a ten-wheeler that was used in short haul commuter service. Below that is a photo of the prototype.
