| 4-4-6-4 Duplex Drive Steam Locomtives |
The Pennsylvania class Q-2 Duplex Drive locomotives were designed to pull long, heavy freight trains at good speed, which they did. Another of the Pennsy non-articulated duplex locomotives, it suffered from many of the same problems as the other duplexes, and did not have a long service run.
Just around Independence Day, 2001, I got my MTH Premier model of the Q-2. It is exquisite, as the following photos show. It sounds every bit as good as it looks, and performs equally as well. There is a short movie of it in action on the Multimedia page.
